2 US ski team prospects die in avalanche [VIDEO]

Two prospects for the U.S. men’s ski team were killed in an avalanche in the Austrian Alps. The team is β€œin shock,” U.S. Alpine director Patrick Riml said.

Ronnie Berlack, 20, of New Hampshire, and Bryce Astle, 19, of Utah, were development-level skiers.

β€œRonnie and Bryce were both outstanding ski racers who were passionate about their sport – both on the race course and skiing the mountain,” Tiger Shaw, the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association President and CEO, said in a comment on the ski team’s website.
