Australian pro golfer Robert Allenby says he’s just happy to be alive after being beaten, kidnapped, and robbed in Honolulu on Friday night.
Robert Allenby, and two friends, had just paid their tab in the Amuse Wine Bar in Waikiki before they were separated around 11 p.m.
Then, Allenby suspects he was drugged and taken to the parking garage, where he was beaten. The assailants stole his phone and wallet, containing credit cards and cash.
Then they drove him six and a half miles away to dump Allenby in a park inhabited by homeless people. A homeless woman woke the disoriented Allenby, and told him he’d been dumped out of a car by some men.
A passing military veteran helped Allenby call a cab and gave him cash for the ride back to the Kahala Hotel.
Robert Allenby was in Hawaii to compete in the Sony Open, but missed the cut, and was due to fly home Saturday.
