Paul Ryan Endorses Donald Trump [VIDEO]

Republican House Speaker Paul Ryan wrote in a Thursday op-ed that he will vote for presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump in the fall. This comes after Ryan had previously said he was not β€œready” to endorse him. The pair had a series of discussionsβ€”by phone and in personβ€”in the weeks leading up to the official endorsement.

Ryan, the party’s 2012 vice-presidential nominee, famously rebuked Trump after the brash billionaire feigned ignorance of support from white supremacist David Duke and the Ku Klux Klan. β€œIf a person wants to be the nominee of the Republican Party, there can be no evasion and no games: They must reject any group or cause that is built on bigotry,” Ryan said at the time. He had also previously lamented the tone of the 2016 GOP primary, largely a product of Trump’s insult-based campaign strategy.
