Spring weather means more Occupy protesters are coming out of hibernation, and the New York Police Department is getting straight to work. The NYPD, dressed in riot gear, threw 300 protesters out of Union Square Park overnight on Wednesday, surrounding the park and informing the protesters that the park would be closing at midnight. One person was arrested while others complied even as they complained that the park is normally open 24 hours a day. The protesters moved into their new camp in the park on Sunday.
