Actor Alec Baldwin played one of his recurring roles — political pundit — on MSNBC on Tuesday, sharing his take on the presidential race.
“These guys are really, really getting scared. They know it’s not looking good for them,” Baldwin said of the GOP. “…And Obama, it’s starting to look like he has it in the bag.”
As for the presumed Republican nominee, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, the actor said, “Romney is as out of touch with the average American as we could possibly find on the meter today. In terms of being in touch with the average American, we would be better off with Gingrich than we would Romney, in terms of personal wealth and attitude about lifestyle and so forth.”
Baldwin called Romney a “real blue blood money guy … a country club guy,” comparing him to former President George H.W. Bush.
“For me, Romney is Bush the first again,” he said. “I think that the people are beginning to see that.”
