Update: Obama To Chat With Jay Leno TONIGHT 11:35PM ET on NBC

President Barack Obama is scheduled to arrive in Los Angeles Wednesday afternoon for an appearance on “The Tonight Show” amid a campaign swing that includes stops in key battleground states.

The president will be in Los Angeles for just a few hours as he visits four states in one day. President Obama will begin the day at the White House before flying to Davenport, Iowa and Denver for campaign events.

The president is scheduled to arrive at Los Angeles International Airport at about 5:30 p.m. The appearance on “The Tonight Show” will be his fifth, the third since he was elected president.

After the 6:30 p.m. show taping, he will fly to Las Vegas for the final campaign event of the day.

President Obama is set to appear on “The Tonight Show” later this week, in yet another attempt to appeal to voters who don’t follow the ins and outs of daily politics.

The president will head to Burbank, Calif., on Wednesday to tape his fifth appearance on his show — his third since taking office. It comes on the heels of an interview last week on another late night show, “The Daily Show.”

Obama was last on NBC’s signature program nearly a year ago, on Oct. 25, 2011. Though Jay Leno isn’t known for grilling his guests, the host did push the president in that interview to discuss the killing of Libyan leader Muammar Qadhafi, which happened just days earlier.

Leno isn’t the only NBC personality talking to Obama this week. Anchor Brian Williams is set to spend two days following the president on the campaign trail and, according to the network, will conduct multiple interviews with Obama and get “rare, exclusive access.”
