Three suspects who were arrested in connection to Boston Marathon bombings have been charged with lying to investigators, authorities said.
The suspects were college friends of alleged bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.
Two of the suspects, Azamat Tazhayakov and Dias Kadyrbayev, were arrested for removing a backpack and fireworks from Tsarnaev’s dorm room after the bombings. Robel Phillipos, the third suspect, is charged with making false statements to police.
According to court papers, the men recognized Tsarnaev from the bombing scene and texted him afterward before removing evidence from his room.
Lawyers of the suspects say they are cooperating, but that they deny the allegations.
