An old PG&E power plant in California was decommissioned and demolished on Saturday, but during the implosion five spectators were injured after being hit with flying shrapnel.
According to the Associated Press, over a thousand people gathered in the early morning to watch the scheduled implosion of the power plant, which was officially decommissioned in 1986.

Four other spectators were treated for minor injuries, said Kern County Fire engineer Leland Davis. All of the injured spectators were standing beyond a perimeter set up to ensure public safety, Davis said.
