Oracle pulls off stunning comeback in America’s Cup

After trailing in the competition 8-1, Oracle Team USA won the final clash with Emirates Team New Zealand on Wednesday in San Francisco Bay.

This is only the third time in the regatta’s 162-year history that it came down to a winner-take-all finale. The defender won in 1920 and the challenger in 1983.

After falling behind 8-1, the American team under skipper Jimmy Spithill captured eight consecutive races to win 9-8 in the best-of-17 series.
