Royal fans are waiting patiently outside the palace where the future king will be baptised at 3pm today
The world is waiting for its second glimpse of Prince George, as the Royal Family prepares for the christening of the third in line to the throne.
The baby prince will be baptised in the Chapel Royal at St James’ Palace in front of a select group of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s closest family and friends.
Expected to attend are the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Charles and Camilla, and Prince Harry.
Carole and Michael Middleton are also on the guest list, as well as Kate’s siblings James and Pippa and Prince George’s seven godparents, who were announced this morning.
The prince will be baptised wearing the royal christening gown – originally designed for Princess Victoria in 1841 – and in the stunning silver Lily Font which was commissioned by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert on the same occasion.
Following the service, the guests will go to a private tea hosted by Prince Charles and Camilla at Clarence House, where they will be served slices of christening cake made from a tier of Prince William and Kate’s wedding cake.
