The contentious relationship between New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) and state public school teachers does not seem to be smoothing over anytime soon.
On Saturday, just days before the state gubernatorial election, the candidate reportedly argued with Buena Regional Middle School teacher Melissa Tomlinson at a campaign stop in Somers Point. Tomlinson told The New Jersey Star-Ledger the conflict began after she asked the governor why he was “portraying our schools as failure factories.”
“I’m tired of you people,” he reportedly responded. Tomlinson also said they had a brief back-and-forth about the state’s public school funding, per the Star-Ledger.
