The death toll in the Philippine city Tacloban could top reach 10,000 following Super Typhoon Haiyan, a senior police official said.
Elmer Soria, regional police chief, said he was told by the Leyte provincial Gov. Dominic Petilla that there approximately 10,000 deaths on the island from collapsed buildings and floods.
