The Kentucky GOP senator shot back at Democrats’ claim Republicans are waging a ‘war on women,’ saying that if Hillary Clinton does run for President, her husband’s ‘predatory’ sexual behavior should be investigated. ‘He took advantage of (Monica Lewinsky), a girl that was 20 years old and an intern in his office. There is no excuse for that and that is predatory behavior.’
Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) suggested the past “predatory” sexual behavior of former President Bill Clinton should receive more attention if Hillary Clinton makes another White House run, but backed off claiming that Bill’s actions should impact Hillary’s chances.
Complaining that Democrats claim Republicans are waging a “war on women,” Paul noted that “one of the work place laws and rules that I think are good is that bosses shouldn’t prey on young interns in their office.”
“The media seems to have given President Clinton a pass on this,” Paul said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” “He took advantage of a girl that was 20 years old and an intern in his office. There is no excuse for that and that is predatory behavior.”
“We shouldn’t want to associate with people who would take advantage of a young girl in his office,” Paul said. “This isn’t having an affair.
“It’s a factor,” Paul said. “Now it’s not Hillary’s fault. But it is a factor in judging Bill Clinton in history.”
Paul, who defended his father, former libertarian presidential candidate and Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas), earlier in the interview, was asked about the Clintons due to comments by his wife Kelley in a September profile in Vogue. She said Bill Clinton’s behavior was “predatory.”
Very telling that men like Rand Paul don’t give two shits about victims of assault or rape unless they can use them as a rhetorical move to defend their own misogyny.
