Plane Full Of Passengers Lands In Istanbul After Hijacking Attempt Suspect Arrested
According to Today’s Zaman, a Turkish news outlet, the plane landed at Istanbul’s Sabiha Gökçen airport, and the pilot had sent a signal notifying officials of a hijacking attempt.
In a statement, via Reuters, the Turkish civil aviation authority said “A Pegasus Airlines plane flying from Kharkov to Sabiha Gokcen landed at Sabiha Gokcen safely after receiving a bomb threat while in the air.”
According to José Miguel Sardo, an editor at euronews, the flight had 110 passengers on board. Sardo reports a Ukrainian tried to divert the plane to Sochi, where the Winter Olympics are just starting:
