400 Arrested In Protest Of Keystone XL Pipeline

XL Pipeline Protest

An estimated 1,000 people, most of whom were college-aged, protested the proposed Keystone XL Pipeline in front of the White House yesterday. And as protests go, theirs was pretty creative. Some fastened themselves with plastic ties to the fence of the White House, and others in white jumpsuits splashed themselves in black paint and laid down on a tarp to represent an oil spill. In all, organizers say 400 were arrested, citing U.S. Park Police figures.
