Facebook to buy Oculus VR for $2 billion

Facebook on Tuesday said it agreed to acquire Oculus VR, a virtual-reality company that uses glasses to simulate game play, for $2 billion in cash and stock.

“Mobile is the platform of today, and now we’re also getting ready for the platforms of tomorrow,” said Facebook chief executive Mark Zuckerberg.

“Oculus has the chance to create the most social platform ever, and change the way we work, play and communicate.”
