Legendary actor Mickey Rooney died Sunday at his home from unknown causes, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.
Born in 1920, Rooney is most remembered for having been one of the biggest child stars in entertainment history, CBS Los Angeles reports. Rooney played Andy Hardy in the 1937 movie “A Family Affair,” which spurred 15 more Andy Hardy films over the next two decades. More recently, he appeared in “The Muppets” in 2011.
Rooney received an honorary Academy Award in 1983 for “versatility in a variety of film performances.”
