Three officials at the veterans hospital in Phoenix were placed on leave amid allegations that patients may have died because of delays in care.
Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric K. Shinseki said the officials include Phoenix Veterans Health Care Center director Sharon Helman and associate Lance Robinson.
Officials are investigating allegations that up to 40 patients may have died due to delays, and if the hospital kept a secret list of patients waiting for appointments.
