Breaking News: Attorney General Eric Holder to Resign Today

Holder, 63, to announce later on Thursday that he is leaving his role as head of the Justice Department.

The United States’ first black attorney general, will announce later on Thursday that he plans to resign from his post as soon as a successor can be confirmed.

House minority leader Nancy Pelosi confirmed Holder’s resignation during a meeting of the Congressional Black Caucus, where he had been due to speak.
