Jon Stewart Explains How ISIS v. al-Qaeda Is Like Coke v. Pepsi:
Jon Stewart point out the rivalry between ISIS and al-Qaeda like the fight between Coke and Pepsi to reach that key demographic of young men who have absolutely no problem not living to be old men.
Stewart made a not-so-subtle joke about ISIS storming into Iraq basically plagiarizing when the U.S. did it before getting to al-Qaeda feeling left out of the game; them feeling they’re not “still relevant in today’s fear market”
Stewart mocked al-Qaeda for basically trying to take ISIS’ headlines with “some office space in Bangalore” and broke down this clash as a rivalry between two groups aiming to get the demographic of “men 18-24 who don’t particularly care about making it to that next demographic.”
He concluded, “ISIS is out-al Qaedaing al-Qaeda!”
