NASA awards contracts to Boeing, SpaceX To Create ‘Space Taxis’

NASA announced Boeing and SpaceX have been awarded contracts to ferry astronauts to and from the International Space Station.

The contracts are worth a potential $6.8 billion in the long run, according to NASA administrator Charles Bolden.

Kathy Lueders, the program manager of NASA’s Commercial Crew Program, said having two contracts will help NASA make sure it stays on track to meet its 2017 goal of manned spaceflights.
