Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice was sentenced to 15 months in prison by a federal judge on Thursday for her part in a bankruptcy and mortgage fraud scheme. “I fully take responsibility for my actions,” Giudice said in response to the sentence. “I deeply love my family…My four daughters are my life.” Giudice’s attorney has argued for a lenient sentence that would allow the reality star to stay home with her children, though U.S. District Court Judge Esther Salas has already refused to grant “downward departure” which would allow probation and possibly home confinement. Giudice’s husband, Joe, was sentenced to 41 months and ordered to pay restitution of $414,588. Salas has agreed to stagger the sentences so that at least one parent will be home with the couple’s children.
