Jim Harbaugh is reportedly quitting the San Francisco 49ers after a four-year tenure that included three NFC title game appearances and a trip to the Super Bowl. Recent buzz suggests that Harbaugh has ditched the NFL team to instead lead the University of Michigan’s football team, after Michigan officials traveled to the Bay Area to meet with him about returning to his alma mater. Harbaugh refused to comment directly on the Michigan rumors. “There will be announcements made concerning those things,” was all Harbaugh said. Although Harbaugh’s first three seasons with the 49ers saw strong runs in the playoffs, the team failed to nab even a wild-card spot this year.
