Jeremy Clarkson faces arrest after he was fired by the BBC for hitting a Top Gear producer in the face with such power he needed to visit the hospital.
Disclosing the sacking, the Director General of the BBC, Lord Hall, said: ‘It’s with great sorrow that I’ve told Jeremy Clarkson that the BBC is not going to be renewing his contract. A line has been crossed’.
His contract expires at the conclusion of the month that Clarkson will be paid and employed by the BBC.
According to reports of his estimated yearly wages that is 1 million GBP, it means the BBC will have paid almost GBP74,000 from the point he was hung until the end of March.
