Multiple local reporters and outlets are reporting he was shot in Constable, NY, near the Canadian border was transferred to a medical center for attention, and is now on the way to an Albany New York in stable condition.
The news comes more than three weeks after Sweat broke free from Clinton Correctional Facility, and two days after his partner was killed by law enforcement.
Richard Matt, 49, the man who escaped with Sweat, 35, on June 6, was shot dead in Malone, which is about 40 miles away from the prison and 20 miles away from the Canadian border.
