NBC is out of touch with reality, and doesn’t seem to have a conscious bone in it’s body. When you look up “tone deaf” in the dictionary you should see a picture of the weasel named Chuck Todd.

While the people of America are still mourning the racist attack that killed 8 people in church, NBC decided to air this segment which was highly inappropriate considering the fact of what is still a fresh opened wound in Charleston and the country. Here is the segment:

NBC has lost it’s mind. I just don’t get it. What is wrong with NBC News, MSNBC and Meet the Press? Is it the Comcast overlords, or is it just simply stupidity or being out of touch with reality. How badly can Meet the Press get it? Well apparently very badly. Like they say, timing is everything. NBC has been trying to play the fake ‘fair and balanced’ for a long time now, and it’s caught up to them this time. Let call this what it is. A pre-packaged corporate reinforcement of white supremacy.

Since airing there has been a massive backlash against MTP and Chuck Todd since the airing of the piece today on MTP. Here is the response from NBC:

We’ve gotten a lot of feedback about the gun video we showed on Meet the Press today. Some were upset it only featured African-American men talking about their regrets of pulling a trigger. All of the men in the piece volunteered to be a part of the video and the larger project it is a part of.

But the last thing we wanted was to cloud the discussion of the topic.

The original decision to air this segment was made before Wednesday’s massacre. However, the staff and I had an internal debate about whether to show it at all this week. When we discussed putting it off, that conversation centered around race and perception – not the conversation we wanted the segment to invoke.

We decided against delaying the segment because we wanted to show multiple sides of what gun violence does in this country. We thought the issue of gun violence in our culture and society was an important conversation to continue — too important to put off for another week. The consequences of gun violence should not be hidden.

As I say to all audiences, Meet the Press should make all viewers uncomfortable at some point or we are not doing our job. I hope folks view the gun video as a part of the conversation we should all be having and not the totality of it.

Before the video aired, Todd made an attempt to deflect the obvious problem with what he was about to air, β€œThe circumstances you are about to see are very different from the racist violence in Charleston. In this case, the inmates are African American that you’re going to hear from. But their lessons remain important. We simply ask you to look at this be a colour blind issue, as about just simply gun violence.

Watch the video and see for yourself if this was appropriate in the wake of the Charleston shooting. If you want and example of bad taste and being out of touch with reality we have a shining example: “Meet the Press staring Chuck Todd”.

Hey Chuck, wait till the bodies are buried at least you little bitch. #FireChuckTodd or whomever is responsible for this decision is the only answer. Tim Russert must be rolling in his grave.
