9 Arrested After Cops Shoot Armed Teen [VIDEO]

Nine people were arrested in St. Louis on Wednesday after protests erupted in response to a fatal police shooting. While two police were attempting to serve a warrant, an 18-year-old black man pointed a gun at the officers, prompting one to shoot and kill him. At the scene, police say they found crack cocaine and four guns. The St. Louis Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man as Mansur Ball-Bey. The shooting ignited protests downtown, which St. Louis Police Chief Sam Dotson said authorities were forced to break up after demonstrators reportedly threw bricks, water bottles and other objects. Police fired smoke cannisters and used tear gas on crowds after fires broke out in the streets. Dotson added police are receiving reports of businesses being looted in what he called β€œacts of violence directed at not only police officers but the neighborhood.”
