Obama Issues Warning on Climate Change [VIDEO]

President Barack Obama urged world leaders Monday to act now on climate change by agreeing to cut carbon emissions at talks in Paris later this year. During an Arctic climate summit in Alaska, Obama warned that “climate change is no longer some far-off problem” and on this issue, “there is such a thing as being too late.” World powers are slated to meet in December in Paris to discuss a deal to limit the rise of global temperatures. Obama is on a three-day tour in Alaska and will close his trip by becoming the first sitting president to visit north of the Arctic Circle. The president has turned climate change into one of the cornerstones of his second term and plans unveil a proposal Tuesday to speed up the acquisition of new Coast Guard icebreakers to operate year-round in the nation’s polar area.
