Stephen Colbert Mocks Jeb Bush Fundraiser With His Own Contest [VIDEO]

Jeb Bush launched a contest for his Tuesday appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert by sending out an email to supporters asking for a $3 minimum donation for the chance to attend a VIP ticket for a taping.

The contest includes dinner with the Bush campaign’s national finance co-chair, Woody Johnson.

Colbert called out Bush’s strategy in a β€œpre-show web video,” where the comedian smirked, β€œIf you can’t afford $3, you’re probably not voting for Jeb Bush.”

β€œI think the contest is a great idea,” he continued. β€œBut here’s the thing: No one from Jeb’s campaign asked if this was okay with me to raise money off my first show. Where’s my cut of that sweet three bucks, Governor? Huh?”

So Colbert is launching his own contestβ€”β€œJeb Bush on the Stephen Colbert Late Show Raffle!”: a minimum $3 donation to the Yellow Ribbon Fund gives you the chance to win two tickets to the first Late Show taping. Another perk? Colbert will ask Bush a β€œnon-obscene question of your choice.” The comedian even throws in a dinner with his lead production accountant, Jason Block.
