North Korea released a New York University student it had been holding since April. Joo Won-moon, a 21-year-old South Korean citizen, was turned over to authorities at the border village of Panmunjom on Monday afternoon, according to the Unification Ministry of South Korea. Pyonyang said in May it had arrested Joo for illegally entering the country from China. Joo, who has permanent residence in the U.S. and was living in New Jersey, will likely face criminal charges for visiting North Korea without government permission.
