The European Union Votes to Protect Edward Snowden [VIDEO]

EU’s parliament voted Thursday to call on its member states to drop criminal charges against Edward Snowden and to protect him from extradition. Approved by a close margin, 285-281, the EU resolution doesn’t change any existing laws or policies but acts as a resolution on the part of the governing body, asking member states to drop any charges against Snowden and β€œprevent extradition or rendition by third parties, in recognition of his status as a whistleblower and international human-rights defender.”
