Cleveland City Wants $500 From Tamir Rice Estate [VIDEO]

The city of Cleveland has filed a creditor’s notice against the estate of Tamir Rice, seeking $500 from the family of the 12-year-old who was shot and killed by a Cleveland police officer in November 2014. The bill claims the city is owed for “for emergency medical services rendered as the decedent’s last dying expense under Ohio Revised Code.” A lawyer for the Rice family blasted this notice. “That the city would submit a bill and call itself a creditor after having had its own police officers slay 12-year-old Tamir displays a new pinnacle of callousness and insensitivity,” Subodh Chandra said Wednesday.
