The City of Cleveland has settled a federal lawsuit brought by the family of Tamir Rice for $6 million, it was announced Monday. Rice, 12, was shot dead by a police officer in 2014 within seconds of responding to an erronous report of a male threatening people in a park with a gun. Rice was in fact holding an Airsoft gun that looked like a pistol. Prosecutors declined to charge Officer Timothy Loehmann for Riceβs death.
