A Canadian man held hostage by Abu Sayyaf militants since last September has been beheaded in the Philippines, officials said Monday. Robert Hall had set off on a journey to sail halfway around the world with his girlfriend when he was abducted from a marina by the Islamic separatist group last fall. Three others were taken along with him, one of whom was killed in April. The captors had demanded $8 million per hostage by June 13, and they followed through with their threats to kill Hall after not receiving the money. Officials say a video of the murder has been released, showing Hall killed in an orange jumpsuit in a jungle area. Manila authorities have confirmed the killing, and a severed head believed to belong to Hall was found in Sulu province.
