Huma Abedin Announces She’s Leaving Anthony Weiner

HumaAbedin Just Announced Shes Leaving Anthony WeinerHuma Abedin announced Monday morning that she is separating from her husband, Anthony Weiner, after it was revealed he sent sexually explicit messages to a woman last year. “After long and painful consideration and work on my marriage, I have made the decision to separate from my husband,” Abedin, a close aide to Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, said in a statement. “Anthony and I remain devoted to doing what is best for our son, who is the light of our life. During this difficult time, I ask for respect for our privacy.”
Weiner, a former member of the U.S. House of Representatives, deleted his Twitter account after the New York Post published sexually explicit messages and photos he exchanged with a woman who was not his wife in July of last year. In one of the images, Weiner is shown in his underwear with the couple’s young son laying next to him. The newest revelation is the third publicized instance of sexting with women who are not his wife—the first of which led to his resignation of Congress, and the second of which doomed his 2013 bid to become the mayor of New York City. In the second revelation, it became clear that Weiner was using the name “Carlos Danger” to correspond with women.
