Clinton served as a senator for New York from 2000 until 2009, when she joined President Obama’s Cabinet as secretary of state, and currently lives in the New York suburb of Chappaqua; Donald Trump was born in Queens, New York, and resides in Trump Tower in Manhattan. Clinton’s New York victory gives her 29 electoral votes. CNN and NBC News have also reported Clinton has won Vermont, Delaware, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Jersey, Illinois, and Maryland, plus Washington, D.C.’s three electoral votes. She currently stands at 97 electoral votes.
