Report: FBI Backs CIA On Russia

The FBI has backed the CIAโ€™s conclusion that Russia intervened in the U.S. presidential election in order to help Donald Trump win, according to The Washington Post, citing U.S. officials. CIA Director John Brennan reportedly sent a memo to CIA employees telling them that โ€œthere is a strong consensusโ€ among he, Comey and Director of National Intelligence James Clapper โ€œon the scope, nature, and intent of Russian interference in our presidential election.โ€ The report also says CIA officials briefed top senators two weeks ago, telling them it was โ€œquite clearโ€ that Russia wanted to help propel Trump to the White House. Trump himself has questioned recent reports suggesting Russiaโ€™s intentions to interfere in the election.
