Former President George H.W. Bush has been hospitalized after experiencing “shortness of breath.” The 41st president’s office confirmed he was recently admitted to Houston Methodist Hospital and that he is responding to treatment. “He’s there. He’s fine and he’s doing really well,” Bush chief of staff Jean Becker told the Houston Chronicle. The 92-year-old former president, who has had a series of health scares over the past few years, is expected to be discharged in a few days. Bush had already announced plans to skip President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration due to his advanced age.
