A speeding LIRR train in Brooklyn derailed during the morning rush hour Wednesday, injuring more than a 100 people, officials said.
The Long Island Railroad train was arriving at the Atlantic Terminal about 8:20 a.m. when it overshot the platform and slammed into the bumper block, causing a sharp stop and a partial derailment, sources said.
Source said the train was going too fast as it entered the station, media reported.
