President Trump’s pick for the Supreme Court expressed to lawmakers on Wednesday that he was upset to see the president attacking the federal judge who temporarily suspended his ban on travel from seven Muslim-majority countries. In a private meeting with Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), SCOTUS pick Neil Gorsuch said it was “disheartening” and “demoralizing” to see the president bash Bush-appointed federal Judge James L. Robart as a “so-called judge” after a ruling on the travel ban went against Trump’s policy. The president additionally denigrated the ruling as “ridiculous.”
