President Trump greeted the world Thursday morning with his customary tweet, this time about the Russia probe. He wrote, “They made up a phony collusion with the Russians story, found zero proof, so now they go for obstruction of justice on the phony story. Nice.” On Wednesday evening, The Washington Post reported that Special Counsel Robert Mueller is examining whether Trump attempted to obstruct justice when he fired FBI Director James Comey. The Post called the development a “major turning point” in the FBI investigation into Russia’s alleged meddling in the 2016 presidential election. Trump followed up his initial blast by re-upping his assertion that he’s being unfairly persecuted. “You are witnessing the single greatest WITCH HUNT in American political history – led by some very bad and conflicted people! #MAGA,” he tweeted.
