Pence Walks Out Of NFL Game After Players Kneel During Anthem

Vice President Mike Pence flew from Las Vegas to Indianapolis for Sunday afternoon’s Colts game, but he and wife Karen Pence left after some visiting 49ers players kneeled during the national anthem. Most observers β€” reportedly including those inside the West Wing β€” viewed Pence’s walk-out as an effort to revitalize President Trump’s feud with NFL players. Pence tweeted that he left “because @POTUS and I will not dignify any event that disrespects our soldiers, our Flag, or our National Anthem,” and Trump tweeted that he’d asked Pence “to leave stadium if any players kneeled.”
