Attorney General Jeff Sessions was “questioned for several hours last week” by special counsel Robert Mueller, a Justice Department spokeswoman confirmed Tuesday morning. This marks the first time Mueller has interviewed someone from Trump’s Cabinet. Sessions recused himself from the Justice Department’s investigations into the Trump team’s possible collusion with Russia during 2016 presidential election once it was revealed that he met with Ambassador Sergey I. Kislyak twice during the campaign. Sessions also played a key role in firing FBI Director James Comey.
