The FBI on Friday admitted it failed to transmit a warning it received about Nikolas Cruz wishing to attack a school to its Miami field office. Cruz is accused of murdering 17 people at a south Florida high school on Wednesday. A “person close” to Cruz contacted the FBI’s tipline and “provided information about Cruz’s gun ownership, desire to kill people, erratic behavior, and disturbing social media posts, as well as the potential of him conducting a school shooting.” The FBI said the information was “not provided to the Miami field office, and no further investigation was conducted at that time.”
