A pedestrian bridge under construction in at Florida International University in Miami collapsed Thursday afternoon, killing “multiple” people, The Miami Herald reported. The bridge covers a major highway at Southwest 8th Street near 109th Avenue, and it runs through downtown Miami. Multiple people were trapped underneath in cars. The bridge was not scheduled to open until early 2019. Reporters on the scene said police moved the media further away from the bridge “just in case the rest falls down.”
