Two of the three programs in that run are new this year. Hylton’s show replaced Alex Witt Reports on September 12, 2026, the same day Connect began broadcasting from its dedicated Los Angeles studio. Connect itself replaced Ali Velshi’s weekend show, which ended when Velshi took over The 11th Hour on weeknights.

Variety reported that Soboroff aims to bring some of the energy of social media to the show. He keeps his role as the network’s senior national and political correspondent while anchoring both days, so the weekend show and his reporting for the rest of the week run side by side.
Who Jacob Soboroff Is
Soboroff studied politics at New York University, earning a bachelor’s degree in 2005 and a master’s in political theory and philosophy in 2006. He was a founding host and producer of HuffPost Live, then joined NBC in September 2015 and filled in on Today and NBC Nightly News. He moved to MS NOW full time in August 2025.
His reporting on the border and on child separation led to a book, Separated: Inside an American Tragedy, published on July 7, 2020. He was one of ten journalists invited to tour Casa Padre, a Texas facility holding about 1,500 boys, and described it as a former Walmart turned into a child prison. His second book, Firestorm: The Great Los Angeles Fires and America’s New Age of Disaster, was published on January 6, 2026, which makes Los Angeles familiar ground for the show.
