Morning Joe is the weekday morning program on MS NOW, the network that until recently carried the MSNBC name. It runs four hours, 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM ET, with Joe Scarborough, Mika Brzezinski and Willie Geist. The four-hour runtime is the format’s defining feature. Most cable news morning shows run two. The extra time is why Morning Joe books sitting senators and cabinet officials for long interviews rather than the four-minute hits that dominate the rest of the daypart.

Who Hosts Morning Joe
Joe Scarborough represented Florida’s first congressional district as a Republican from 1995 until his resignation in 2001, per his Congressional Biographical Directory entry. That history is the organising idea of the show: a former Republican member of Congress anchoring a program built for an audience well to his left.
Mika Brzezinski co-anchors and runs the show’s Know Your Value franchise. She reported for CBS News before joining the program, including from ground zero on September 11, 2001.
Willie Geist co-hosts alongside them and also anchors Sunday Today on NBC. Scarborough and Brzezinski, who had co-hosted together for more than a decade by then, married in 2018.
What the Show Actually Does
The format is a roundtable, not a news read. A rotating panel of reporters, former officials and columnists works through two or three stories at length rather than cycling a full budget of headlines. Guests are usually in the room rather than on a remote camera, which is why exchanges run longer and get interrupted more than they would elsewhere.
That structure is also the show’s most common criticism. Panels drawn largely from Washington regulars produce a consistent point of view, and the program has been faulted from both directions for it: for being too accommodating to Republican guests, and for being insufficiently so. Scarborough’s own party history keeps that argument alive.
